Director Mariska Foppen has joined the board of the Flower Council of Holland (BBH). With more than 25 years of experience at Waterdrinker and also part of the management team of the Dutch Plant Group (formed by Waterdrinker, OZ Planten and Hamiplant), she brings a lot of expertise in the field of strategy and marketing.
As director of Waterdrinker, connecting breeders, growers and (international) customers is central to her work. In addition, Mariska was previously active as a board member of the Flower Council of Holland. Based on this experience and expertise, Mariska, as a board member, will also help guide the course of BBH.
Mariska: “Within the board of BBH I would like to contribute to a better alignment of BBH's activities with the wishes of traders and growers, so that we can increase support for sector promotion. In particular, the timely sharing of intended campaigns, making it easier for traders and growers to respond to this. Ultimately, it is important to be able to structurally translate collective campaigns into shopper activations, in collaboration with trade and growers.
In addition, I see many opportunities in the field of digital media in combination with strong campaigns to get the attention of the consumer. Online marketing has many possibilities to communicate in a more targeted way and to increase the reach so that more people buy flowers and plants.
We want to show that we are doing well in the sector, how beautiful our products are and so increase the enthusiasm for plants and flowers. That is why we as a sector must join forces. And I am keen to contribute to that!”.
